Global travel trends in 2024 support the

Exceptional changes are taking place in the travel industry that reflect the preferences of modern travellers for sustainable travel, authenticity and personal growth. The survey of the Booking portal for 2024 reveals key trends that almost perfectly comply with our philosophy of boutique character, holistically designed offers, transformative experiences and sustainable orientation. Let’s take a look at the five distinctive global trends that confirm our beliefs and efforts.

1. CONNECTION WITH NATURE AND HOLISTIC EXPERIENCE

The survey, which included 27,000 travellers from 33 countries, revealed that more than half of the respondents (53%) seek accommodation that combines comfort with a sustainable offer. Most of them (65%) want to travel to green oases, which coincides with our efforts towards holistic experiences in nature where guests can find comfort, peace and connection with their surroundings.

2. SUSTAINABLE CHOICE AND LIFESTYLE

Sustainable destinations and offers appeal to the majority of travellers (60%), reflecting a growing awareness of the importance of sustainable tourism. The WWG focuses exclusively on sustainable destinations that enable their guests to contribute to the conservation of the environment and the wellbeing of the local community.

3. PERSONAL GROWTH AND TRANSFORMATIVE EXPERIENCE

As many as 68% of the respondents believe that they become better versions of themselves through travelling. This is confirmed by our own belief that travelling can be a catalyst for personal growth and transformation. The WWG primarily focuses on creating transformative travel experiences that enable guests to connect with themselves and discover new dimensions of their personality when travelling.

4. AUTHENTICITY AND BOUTIQUE CHARACTER

Almost one half of the respondents (47%) want to interact with the locals in less visited areas and 44% wish to visit lesser-known tourist destinations. This points to a growing desire for more unique and hidden destinations and experiences that enable closer contact with local life. Authenticity and boutique character are our fundamental criteria. We appreciate experiences that enable guests to genuinely and intimately connect with an environment and its people.

5. WELLNESS EXPERIENCE AND CULINARY PLEASURES

The survey revealed that as many as 20% of the respondents visit “sanctuaries” that enable their personal growth, while 14% of them seek getaways that significantly affect their spirituality. One half of the respondents plan their travels while keeping in mind certain restaurants or dishes, and as many as 61% prioritise learning about the origins of typical dishes at a certain destination. The survey thus recorded a growing tendency of travellers towards integrated exploration and pampering on their travels, a finding which is in complete harmony with our idea of experiencing a holiday through the combined care of body and mind.

The statistics of the Booking portal certainly confirms that the WWG guidelines coincide with the paths an increasing number of people are choosing, paths which highlight boutique character, sustainability, holistic and transformative experiences.
